Course Description
The Bachelor of Public Health in Health Promotion and Nutrition is an undergraduate program established to develop the knowledge, skills and expertise needed to promote good health. This program covers a broad range of issues including alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, physical activity, environmental issues, and eating behaviours. Throughout this program students learn to engage with the community as well as individuals to promote health, prevent illness, and limit the spread of disease (Griffith University, 2014).
Rationale for Choosing Public Health
I chose to enrol in the Bachelor of Public Health to follow my passion and contribute toward preventing ill health, and promoting ways in which people can lead healthier and more meaningful lives. Throughout my degree I have gained valuable theoretical and practical skills in health promotion and nutrition that will contribute toward my prospective career in mental health promotion and prevention.
